North Leominster Little League 2020 Season

ittle League has decided to cancel the 2020 Little League World Series as well as all regional qualifying tournaments.

As part of this announcement, Little League continued to encourage local leagues to pursue options for playing a 2020 season in accordance with state and local safety guidelines.

At this time, North Leominster Little League fully intends to have a 2020 season as soon as it is safe to do so.

As each state and community will have different guidance for resuming organized youth sports, Little League International has strongly encouraged volunteers to confirm with their local and state health officials that it is safe to do so before resuming Little League activities. These playing opportunities could include not only regular season activities, but opportunities for local district, and, perhaps, state all-star tournament play to provide players, especially those moving up to a new age division in 2021, a tournament experience, if possible and safe.

The most recent guidance from the state of Massachusetts extended the essential services emergency order to May 18th and announced that the Department of Public Health’s Stay At Home Advisory remains in effect and gatherings of 10 or more people remain prohibited until May 18th.

The board of directors of North Leominster Little League is closely monitoring this situation as well as updates from our Little League District Officer and will use this information to devise a plan for our 2020 season with the safety of our players, families, volunteers and fans as our #1 priority. We thank you for your patience as these events unfold.

We realize that our players and families signed up for a season that would run from late April to early June. With that in mind, we are providing the following options for families going forward:

1. Continue your 2020 registration and participate in our Little League season whenever it begins. We do not yet have a target date for the 2020 season but will be looking to begin activities as soon as state and local officials determine it is safe to do so and in accordance with Little Leagues resumption guide:

2. Receive a refund of your 2020 registration fee.

3. Roll your 2020 registration into our 2021 Spring season. Your registration for 2021 will be paid in full regardless of any divisional price increases that may occur. Players and families moving from one division to another will be responsible for any difference in registration fee.

4. Donate your 2020 registration fee to North Leominster Little League as a non-profit organization.

If you would like to choose options 2, 3 or 4, we ask that you email [email protected] by May 18th so that we have a good idea of how many players we will have for our delayed 2020 season.

North Leominster Little League once again thanks you for your patience as we work through this unprecedented situation. Our goal, as always, remains to provide our players with a safe and fun environment in which to learn and play the great game of baseball.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

The North Leominster Little League Board of Directors
