COVID-19: All Athletic Fields Closed

In an effort to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Mayor and Recreation Commission closed all athletic fields for sport activities until further notice.
At this time, no one is allowed to use City owned athletic fields for sport activities, including board members and their families.  There is a concern over high-touch equipment and locations being properly sanitized and the virus staying on surfaces from 2-9 days.
We appreciate everything the league boards do to care for City property and provide recreational activities for the community. Only functions to provide necessary maintenance needs such as mowing and fertilizing fields will still be allowed as long as social distancing guideline are followed. This action is intended to slow the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), protect those most vulnerable to the disease, and preserve local healthcare capacity.
The City will provide regular updates as new information becomes available. Please refer to the City’s website at and the City’s Facebook page for updates.
The Mayor and Recreation Commissioner’s appreciate your support and understanding as we all continue to work together to stop the spread of COVID-19.
